aerobics classes at the Clear Lake Forest pool during the months of
June and July and August. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings
at 7:00 am. Beginning

Thanks
to all the Clear Lake Forest residents, young and old, who pitched in
and helped to Spruce Up our neighborhood on April 10th. We had probably
the best turn out of support of any Spruce Up! Clear Lake Forest has
a history of residents volunteering to make improvements both minor
and substantial. In addition to the material improvements it’s
a great way to meet neighbors and feel a part of a real community. Projects
were completed at Baronridge Park (repairs on the bulkhead, cleaning
under the Scout Hut, and cleaning/weeding around the playground equipment),
the pool (carpentry, cleaning and planting rose bushes) and at the Forest
Lake entrance (repairs to the lights). There’s still work to be
done, particularly at the pool, so feel free to contact a board member
if you’d like another chance to make your mark! The following
are your neighbors that worked this past weekend (We apologize if we
missed someone – let us know and we’ll add your name!).

CLF Easter Egg Hunt Friday, April 2nd at 10:00am Baronridge Park Please donate (1) dozen eggs per child participating. Eggs may be dropped off at 1202 Goldendale. Everyone is welcome to join us in this fun neighborhood tradition. Hope to see everyone there! |

The judging will be Dec. 17, 2009, Thursday starting at 7 pm. Judging will be by Gardeners on the Bay. Please
have your Christmas lights on at that time, if you wish to be judged.

Doorway There will be prizes for the winners. This is a long time tradition in Clear Lake Forest (at least 35 years). |
| Please mark your calendar to help out at our first clean up event of the new fiscal year. Probable projects are 1) rewiring about a dozen of the light sockets on the brick columns along Forest Lake Drive; Z) trimming/cleaning up along Forest Lake; 3) set posts along the parking lot at Baronridge Park to restrict access and 4) possibly adding security lights under the Scout Hut. General clean-up in and around the playground and pool is always a project for the kids to help with. The more volunteers we have the more we can accomplish. Please gather Saturday morning at 8:30 at Baronridge Park. We'd expect to be finished by Noon. Bring gloves and tools you think will come in handy. |
According
to the City’s website, the City’s last pick-up for debris
was October 25th. Therefore, the disposing of fence debris or tree debris
is the responsibility of the homeowner. |
| As
stated, everyone should put all their debris at the curb in two piles;
organic and inorganic. The
debris removal company is not FEMA. They are contracted by the city
but in order for the city to be refunded by FEMA all regulations/processes
must be met. One FEMA rule is that the debris company may not go onto
private property. Therefore, all Ike related debris must be brought
to the curb in the city .RO.W. This includes the stumps. Most citizens
have gotten their stumps to the curb- those that have not done this
yet will need to make those arrangements. I am sorry but the city cannot
go on private property to remove any debris. |

Clear Lake Forest Women's Club The CLF Women's Club is an association of women of all ages who enjoy knowing their neighbors and whose efforts are aimed at improving our wonderful neighborhood. In addition to sponsoring social events for the community and providing the Christmas decorations at our entrances, this group assists the Community Association with other projects. The
Club meets monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September through
June, mostly in homes, and enjoys a time for social interaction before
a program. Guests and new members are always welcome. Near-term Meetings and Social Functions

Near Record Rainfall for June 2001
The 12.5 inches recorded for June 2004 at the unofficial
Baronridge Rain Gauge location, is second only to the 16.9 inches recorded
for June 2001, when we experienced the downpour from Tropical Storm Allison.
This compares to the National Weather Services numbers for Houston: June
2004( *18.32 in), and June 2001( *19.21 in.)
